Football
So it has been a little longer than I expected since last time I posted anything. That's because the last 3 weekends in a row, my wife and I have been competing in a cyclocross race. The football games I've been to taking pictures are ending this week so here is a football pic.

Yellowstone National Park
I apologize that it has been so long since I blogged anything. My computer has been on the fritz. We also made a trip up to Yellowstone not too long ago. It is about an hour away, maybe a little longer.
Anyway we packed up our twins at 4:30am and drove up. It was the perfect time because the Kids slept the whole way. Ours was the only car at the west gate. The air was still cold and the sun was just starting to come up when we got there. It made for great conditions to take photos.
Here is my favorite from this trip:

Sari
Sorry that it has been so long since I lasted posted anything. I have been busy with finals at the University. They are done now though and these next couple of Posts should make up for it.
I did a bridal shoot not too long ago for a girl engaged to a man from India. She wore a Sari. It was fun to have a different king of wedding outfit to work with.

Having some Fun!
One of my recent assignments at school was to use a Holga camera. They are a cheap plastic camera. They make some interesting looking photographs though. These photos weren't done with the Holga instead they were done with my digital SLR during the same shoot that I was using the Holga. (If possible I will try to scan some of the Holga prints I made) I liked using the Holga because there weren't too many technical things you could control while using it. That cleared things up to where I only really needed to think about composition. It wound being a really fun evening and I can't wait to go out and try some other ideas I still have for the Holga!

Upper Mesa Falls
I recently made a trip up to a water fall here in Idaho called 'Upper Mesa Falls'. It is a nice waterfall. There are only a few spots to really get a photo of the falls from. So here are a few of my favorites from the evening I spent there.

Bridal Shoot
Recently I went to Thanksgiving Gardens for a bridal session. When we started out there were tons of people roaming around. We persisted though and the crowds soon died down. There are many places to take pictures there. We had a great time and were able to get many incredible shots. These are just a few of my favorites from the afternoon.

Low Key
Ok, Sorry it has been a bit longer than a week since I posted. Things got a little busy me for me.
Here's a 'Low key' for you though. This is a shot of the rear tire on my mountain bike. It's a good tire too. It sticks to the dirt in turns like glue.

High Key
What is High Key?
Here is a photo of a sundress that I picked out for my wife when we were in Ensenada, Mexico a couple of summers ago. We went there on a four day cruise. The cruise was very nice.
I am currently in a class learning more about 'Black and White photography'. We are working on high key and low key photos right now. So I hung the dress up on our closet door and soon enough I had this high key photograph.

Go for a Drive
One of the best things about photography is that in order ot take photos you have to get up and move around or sometimes, go somewhere and get down in the dirt. Either way it is a great way to make sure that you don't become a couch potato watching things on TV that don't matter.
I would like to encourage you to grab your camera and set off on an outing. Get out and start looking at details about where you are going. There is still alot of snow on the ground and not much is growing, or out moving where I live. However, I started the car this morning with grey skies above and snow flurries coming and going. I was determined to take a photo of something though. I had no idea what it would be but I got out into the countryside and stopped the car, got out and just started taking photos. Here is one of those photos.
The snow that had been coming down early in the morning while the skies were still greay was now melting and evaporating. It was great to be out when the sun decided it was going to grace the skies and make them blue. The water evaporating gave me the inspirationg to kneel down and get a shot of the cars driving through the mist.
So, just get out there you never know what you will find!

Ice Climbing
I was up Provo Canyon in Utah a few years ago watching people cliimb the ice on and around Bridal Veil Falls. This was a good winter for it. Water seemed to have come out of every crack in the mountain and frozen on it's way down to the bottom. There was tons of Ice and alot of Ice Climbers.
I love this picture because it shows the vastness of the ice and smallness of the man climbing it. Still he just kept focused on what he was doing and climbed.

- About David Summerill
- There is a scripture in the Doctrine and Covenants section 130 verses 18 -19 that reads: "18-Whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection. 19-And if a person gains more knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the advantage in the world to come." That is the reason I am living in England and attending the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham. I am working on a MFA in Photography in order to further my secular intelligence. Additionally I am learning more than I ever thought I would about having faith in God and where he leads us in life. I graduated from Brigham Young University Idaho with a degree in Recreation Management and a minor in Photography. If I am not photographing, then you can find me running, mountain biking, or spending time with my family.
